Dakota Dunes is a master-planned business and residential community located in southeastern South Dakota on Interstate 29, Exit #1 adjacent to the Sioux City, Iowa metro area. A Dakota Dunes location allows your company to be within a 100 mile radius of major metropolitan areas, hospitals and university research centers including Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Omaha, Nebraska which provide access to regional airports. The Sioux City airport is located 10 miles south of Dakota Dunes with access via Interstate 29.
Dakota Dunes is part of the Sioux City Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) with a population base of 145,000. These three include (a) electricity which is provided by MidAmerican Energy Company by way of dual underground feeds; MidAmerican also provides natural gas (b) municipal water which is provided by Dakota Dunes Community Improvement District which operates its own water treatment facility with a capacity of 2 mgd and is also connected to the Sioux City, Iowa municipal water system which can provide an additional 2.7 mgd and (c) a state of the art fiber optic telecommunications system which is connected to the north and south of Dakota Dunes allowing your company access to dark fiber and digital switching.
There are four higher education institutions in the metro area including Morningside College, Briar Cliff University, Western Iowa Tech and Northeast Community College. In addition, the University of South Dakota is located 30 miles north of Dakota Dunes. Dakota Dunes is part of the Dakota Valley School District, one of the newest school districts in the state. Established in 1994, Dakota Valley is home to about 1,000 students with modern and well-equipped facilities.

Country Club Estates Custom building sites are available in the Country Club Estates neighborhood offering golf course, forest, lake and river views and close proximity to clubhouse facilities. A total of 667 lots are planned, 583 are developed and 522 are sold as of December 31, 2011.
The Meadows Featuring medium-priced, single family homes surrounding a community park with a summer house, children's playground and basketball courts. A total of 306 lots are planned, 288 are developed and 271 are sold as of December 31, 2011.
The Prairie A neighborhood with moderately priced single-family homes and multiple-family townhomes conveniently located near a community park, summer house, children's playground and basketball courts. A total of 232 lots are planned and developed and 204 are sold as of December 31, 2011.
The Willows Townhomes The Willows is a townhome project under development abutting the beautiful Dakota Dunes Country Club and the #1 and #10 holes on South Dakota's #1 top rated golf course.
La Costa Townhomes La Costa is one of Dakota Dunes latest townhome/condominium developments just starting in September 2008. It is conveniently located east of Dakota Dunes Boulevard on East Pinehurst Trail.
The Glen The Glen is a 20-townhome complex in duplex form located east of Dakota Dunes Boulevard on East Pinehurst Trail. Spanish Bay Spanish Bay in the Country Club Estates is a 60-acre development currently underway which will include 45 homes, as well as, a 22-acre lake.
Brookline Brookline is a 22-unit townhome development located on Prairie Boulevard. Prices start around $185,000.
